School Partnerships
Working in partnership, aspiring to excellence.
Being a student is one of the most exciting times of a young person’s life, so it's vital that they choose the right place and programme of study.
At Castleford, Selby and Wakefield College, an inspiring learning experience awaits. Our school partnerships offer is designed to equip students with the skills, confidence and knowledge they need to move successfully into the next stage of their lives.
We provide young people with clear information, advice and guidance to help them choose the right course and explore future career opportunities, supporting them to reach their full potential.
We’re proud to showcase our Colleges and the wide range of high-quality courses we offer across many subject areas, helping every student find the path that’s right for them.
Working in Partnership
Castleford, Selby and Wakefield College are proud to work in close partnership with local schools, employers and training providers to strengthen learning, raise achievement and support progression across the district. By working together, we help create clear, accessible pathways that enable young people to move confidently towards their next step.
Our School Partnerships programme is designed to raise awareness of Further and Higher Education, whilst encouraging continued participation in learning. We offer schools a wide range of engaging activities that enrich the curriculum, broaden students’ understanding of future opportunities and provide valuable insight into Further Education and the world of work.
Why the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group?
We feel strongly that our courses are relevant to children at Key Stage 4, and are pleased to also offer Technical Awards which carry performance points into our provision. These contribute towards Progress and Attainment 8, as we endeavour to ensure vocational learning is still accessible for schools and young people.
Our programmes offer schools a meaningful and challenging alternative curriculum which helps the development of young people, whilst keeping them engaged in education and providing a clear pathway into post-16 education. Last year, 78% of Year 11 students progressed from our School Link provision to post-16 study with us - a figure we’re very proud of.
This is by no means all that we can offer. We also seek to be flexible and if you have an idea of how we can support your school and students, please don't hesitate to contact a member of the team.
The School Partnership team go above and beyond to support our young people and help them make positive starts to their post 16 education. The team work brilliantly with students who find mainstream school challenging and provide a platform for them to achieve positive outcomes. Amanda Clawson
