Course Overview

This course is designed for students who have completed the Level 1 qualification or have previous experience in the automotive sector. At this level, learners will specialise in body repair and paint techniques, with a focus on using different methods to restore vehicle bodies and applying finishes using spray guns. 

Students will gain practical experience in the repair process, from preparing surfaces to using the spray booth effectively. This course builds on the foundational knowledge learned at Level 1, deepening understanding of industry-standard techniques and equipment.

What You Will Study

The course is delivered through a mixture of practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory. Students who have not yet achieved a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths or English will continue working towards these qualifications alongside their technical studies. 

Units include:

  • Health and Safety in the Workshop
  • Fabrication Techniques
  • Body Repair Procedures
  • Mechanical, Electrical, and Trim (MET)

You will be assessed through practical tasks in the workshops and completion of portfolio work and end of unit exams.

GCSEs at Grade 9-3 in English and Maths.

AND

A Level 1 Certificate qualification.

On successful completion and with the required English and Maths grades you can progress to the Level 2 Diploma.
