Course Overview
This course can either be studied at Wakefield College or Selby
College.
This Foundation Degree allows you to shape your studies towards your career
ambitions and build the knowledge, skills and experience needed to be a
successful business manager in a wide range of industries with a specific focus
on finance, project management or sustainability.
Each module prepares you for the working world by covering a range of topics
that are common to business and management in an increasingly diverse market
whilst also preparing you for progression onto the BA (Hons) Leadership &
Management degree where you would specialising in either Finance,
Sustainability, or Project Management.
The course is mainly assignment-based and covers a variety of topics commonly
encountered by the business professional. Small class sizes and a high level of
tutor support help ease you through this degree course.
This is a taught course where you'll participate in a range of learning
activities including online and face to face lectures, classroom presentations,
research tasks, group work, exhibitions, workshops, tutorials and self-directed
activities. Lecturers are educated to Masters Level or above with industry
experience to support their teaching.
Through these sessions, you'll develop the knowledge and skills to support
your assignment work. Typically you will normally have around 10 hours of taught
classes per week and will be expected to complete another 10 hours per week
self-directed study.

Full time: 2 to 3 days per week.
Excellent attendance is important to achieve and progress well on this
course. All sessions must be attended unless previously agreed with the
programme leader.
Assessment is through a variety of methods that are relevant to leaders and
managers working within a business environment and may be linked to the
workplace.
